Heritage Brass Edge Pull Handles

Heritage Brass edge pull handles provide an alternative to conventional knobs and projecting cabinet handles. Most of the fitting sits against the top or rear edge of the door or drawer, while a shaped lip extends far enough to provide a grip.

These fittings are sometimes used in minimal or “handleless-style” kitchens, although a physical handle remains visible and accessible. Their low-profile design can also suit wardrobes, utility-room cabinets and bespoke joinery.

Before ordering, check:

  • The handle’s overall length and width
  • The depth and projection of its gripping lip
  • The top-fixed or rear-fixed configuration
  • The cabinet door or drawer-front thickness
  • The position and spacing of the fixing holes
  • Clearance around worktops and adjoining units
  • The gap between neighbouring doors and drawers

Cabinet Edge Pull Handles

Cabinet edge pulls can be fitted horizontally to the upper or lower edge of a cupboard door, depending on its position and opening direction. Selected designs may also be installed vertically along the side edge.

Plan the handle position so it can be reached comfortably without forcing the fingers into a narrow gap. The pull must not prevent an adjoining door or drawer from opening correctly.

For banks of cabinets, use a consistent position and alignment. Even small variations can be noticeable because the visible lip follows the straight edge of the furniture.

Kitchen Edge Pull Handles

Kitchen edge pull handles work particularly well with flat-fronted cabinets and drawers. Their slim profile reduces visual interruption across a run of units while leaving a defined grip at each opening point.

Check clearance beneath worktops and between drawer fronts. A top-mounted pull may need additional space between the cabinet edge and the surface above it.

On integrated appliances, make sure the selected handle and fixing arrangement are compatible with the furniture panel and appliance manufacturer’s requirements.

Rounded Edge Pulls

Rounded lip edge pulls have a softer curved profile at the visible gripping edge. Their shape can complement round cabinet knobs, curved pull handles and other furniture fittings with less angular detailing.

Review the product drawing to understand how far the curved lip projects from the cabinet. A small difference in projection can affect both comfort and clearance.

Square Edge Pulls

Square edge pull handles use straighter lines and more defined corners, making them well suited to geometric kitchens and contemporary fitted furniture.

Because the edges create clear horizontal or vertical lines, accurate positioning is important. Use a template or consistent measuring method when installing several handles across adjoining units.

Top-Fixed Edge Pull Handles

A top-fixed edge pull is secured into the edge of the door or drawer front. The main plate sits across that edge, with the lip extending over the visible face.

Check the cabinet thickness and screw length carefully. The fixing must enter sufficient material without splitting the edge or projecting through the opposite surface.

Top fixing may leave fixing points visible when the cabinet is open, depending on the furniture design and installation position.

Rear-Fixed Edge Pull Handles

A rear-fixed edge pull is secured from the back of the door or drawer front, helping keep the fixings hidden from the main exterior face. The handle wraps around the edge so its gripping lip remains accessible.

Confirm that there is sufficient flat space behind the cabinet front and that the fitting will not obstruct hinges, drawer boxes or other internal components.

Choosing an Edge Pull Length

Edge pulls range from compact finger pulls to longer handles that create a stronger horizontal feature. Choose a length that is proportionate to the cabinet and provides a comfortable grip.

A long pull does not necessarily need to span the full width of the drawer. Consider the visual layout, expected load and available fixing positions before selecting the size.

Brass and Bronze Edge Pull Handles

Heritage Brass edge pulls are available in selected brass, bronze and other coordinating finishes. Warm metallic tones can provide subtle contrast against painted cabinets, timber veneers and neutral kitchen finishes.

Finish availability varies according to the profile, length and fixing method. Check every selected size before assuming the same finish is available throughout a project.

Unlacquered Brass Edge Pulls

The live collection includes rounded and square unlacquered-brass edge pulls in top-fixed and rear-fixed designs. With no protective lacquer, the surface develops a natural patina through handling and exposure.

The visible lip may age differently from the concealed sections because it is touched more frequently. Follow the product care guidance and avoid polishing if you want to preserve the naturally changing finish.

Replacing Existing Cabinet Handles

Edge pulls are most straightforward to fit to new or un-drilled furniture. If you are replacing conventional face-mounted handles, the new edge pull may not cover the previous fixing holes.

Check whether the old holes can be repaired appropriately before changing handle style. When replacing an existing edge pull, compare its length, depth, fixing pattern and cabinet thickness with the new product.

Coordinating Heritage Brass Cabinet Hardware

Combine edge pulls with matching Heritage Brass cabinet knobs, cabinet pull handles and cup handles where different furniture types require different grips.
