Traditional Window Hardware

Shop traditional window hardware for timber casement windows, with matching window stays, fasteners and stay locks in black and pewter finishes. The range includes Monkey Tail, Pear Drop and Shepherd’s Crook designs for projects where coordinating traditional-style fittings are required.

When replacing existing hardware, choose the fitting type first and then compare the dimensions, fixing arrangement and finish with the fittings already installed. Product sizes and configurations can vary, so use the individual product information as the final reference before ordering.

Choose a Traditional Window Design

The collection is built around three traditional design families: Monkey Tail, Pear Drop and Shepherd’s Crook. Each is available across matching window stays and fasteners, allowing the same design to be used on both parts of a suitable casement window.

Choose the design according to the other ironmongery used around the property, then check the available sizes and fitting requirements for the individual stay or fastener.

Black or Pewter Window Hardware

The traditional range is available in black and pewter, making it possible to use the same finish across matching stays, fasteners and stay locks.

If you are choosing primarily by finish rather than design family, browse our dedicated Black Window Furniture or Pewter Window Furniture collections.

Matching Window Stays and Fasteners

A traditional casement window may use a separate stay and fastener. The stay is used to hold an opening casement at a selected position, while the fastener holds the window closed against the frame.

For the complete range of stay designs, sizes and finishes, browse our Window Stays. For the wider choice of traditional casement fastening options, visit Window Fasteners.

Where you want the two fittings to coordinate, check that the stay and fastener belong to the same design and finish family before ordering.

Does Your Window Use an Espagnolette Mechanism?

Not every timber casement window uses a separate stay and traditional fastener. Some windows use an espagnolette mechanism operated by a compatible Espag handle.

If your existing window has this type of mechanism, start with our Espag & Espagnolette Window Handles rather than choosing a traditional casement fastener by appearance alone. Check spindle dimensions, fixing centres, handing and mechanism compatibility against the individual product information.

Locking Window Stay Lugs

The collection also includes matching black and pewter window stay locks for compatible traditional stays. These fittings replace a standard stay lug with a locking version and are secured using the supplied Allen key.

Check the individual stay-lock product information and dimensions to confirm suitability for your existing stay before installation.

Traditional Style and Hand-Forged Hardware

The fittings in this collection are traditional in design but should not be confused with our hand-forged ironmongery range.

If your project specifically requires hand-forged fittings, browse our Traditional Door Hardware collection.
