Door Knobs

Our interior door knobs collection brings together traditional door knobs for period homes, cottages, renovation projects and carefully chosen modern interiors. The range includes wooden, brass, cast iron, ceramic, black, bronze, chrome and nickel finishes, with options for both mortice latches and traditional rim locks.

Choose from classic styles such as beehive door knobs, ideal for Georgian and Victorian-style doors, or explore wooden door knobs in rosewood and ebonised finishes for a warmer period look.

For a stronger traditional finish, cast iron door knobs offer weight and texture for internal doors, while ceramic door knobs are well suited to bedrooms, bathrooms, wardrobes and country-style interiors.

If you are choosing by finish, explore brass door knobs, antique brass door knobs, aged brass door knobs, black door knobs, matt bronze door knobs, chrome and nickel designs.

Many designs are available for standard mortice latches or as rim lock door knob sets. If your door has a visible surface-mounted rim lock, make sure you choose a door knob set designed for that fitting type.

Choosing the right door knob

Before choosing a finish, check how the door needs to work. A standard internal door will usually use a mortice latch or tubular latch. A bathroom door normally needs a bathroom lock with a turn and release. A traditional door with a visible rim lock needs a dedicated rim lock door knob set.

Backset is also important. Door knobs usually need more clearance from the door frame than lever handles because your hand wraps around the knob. A longer latch backset can make the door more comfortable to use and help the finished hardware look better balanced on traditional panelled doors.

If you are replacing existing door handles with knobs, check the old fixing marks, latch position and rose size before ordering. Some marks may need filling or decorating if the new round rose does not cover the previous handle plate.

Helpful door knob guides

We have added a series of practical guides to help you choose the correct door knobs, locks and latches for your project:

Matching door hardware

Each product listing includes finish details, dimensions and compatible latching options where available. Many styles can be paired with matching or complementary rim locks, door handles, window furniture, cabinet handles and other traditional ironmongery.

For front doors and external applications, always consider the material, weather exposure and security requirements. The door knob may operate a latch or act as a pull, but the lock itself should provide the correct level of security for the door.
