Exterior Euro Cylinder Locks

Our exterior Euro cylinder locks are designed for doors fitted with a compatible Euro profile lock case. The range includes high-security 15-pin AGB cylinders in key-to-key and key-to-turn configurations, with finishes selected to coordinate with your exterior door furniture.

Selected 15-pin Euro cylinders feature anti-drill, anti-pull and certified anti-bump protection. Made in Italy, they have six active pins, nine passive pins and a 10-year mechanical guarantee, making them a suitable option when upgrading the cylinder on a compatible external door.

Before ordering, check the required cylinder length, internal and external measurements, lock type and preferred operating method. Security and fire-door specifications vary between products, so always consult the individual listing and any requirements supplied by your door manufacturer, installer or insurer.

Choosing an Exterior Euro Cylinder

A Euro cylinder operates the locking mechanism inside a compatible Euro profile sash lock or deadlock. The cylinder, lock case, handles and escutcheons must be compatible with one another and suitable for the door on which they will be installed.

For an external entrance door, look closely at the security features stated on the individual cylinder listing. Our selected 15-pin AGB cylinders include:

  • Six active and nine passive pins
  • Anti-drill protection using steel pins
  • An anti-pull cam made from sintered steel
  • Certified resistance to lock bumping
  • High durability tested to EN 1303
  • A 10-year mechanical guarantee

The collection may also display 5-pin cylinders and related Euro profile fittings. These provide a more basic level of security and are primarily positioned for internal doors. Check the individual product description before selecting a cylinder for an exterior entrance.

Key-to-Key or Key-to-Turn Cylinders?

A key-to-key Euro cylinder, also known as a double cylinder, is operated with a key from both sides of the door. A key-to-turn cylinder uses a key externally and a thumbturn internally, allowing the door to be operated from inside without a key.

The appropriate configuration will depend on the door, surrounding glazing, access requirements and the way the property is used. For fire doors and escape routes, confirm the required cylinder and locking arrangement with the door manufacturer or a suitably qualified installer.

How to Measure a Euro Cylinder

Euro cylinders are measured from the centre of the fixing screw and cam to each end of the cylinder. Measure the internal and external sides separately because the two measurements may not be equal.

The fitted cylinder should sit neatly with the handle or escutcheon rather than projecting unnecessarily from the outside of the door. Check the technical drawing on the individual product page and compare it with your existing cylinder before ordering.

Fire-Door Suitability

Selected 15-pin cylinders are described as suitable for fire doors tested to EN 1634. However, fitting one component does not make the complete door assembly fire compliant. The lock case, handles, cylinder and other components must all be appropriate for the certified doorset and installed in accordance with its instructions.

Matching Euro Profile Door Furniture

Complete your entrance with coordinating front door furniture and door handles on backplate. If the cylinder is not covered by a handle backplate, browse our Euro profile escutcheons for a coordinated protective surround.

Available finishes vary by product and may include matt antique brass, matt black, polished chrome, satin brass and satin chrome. Check the individual listing when an exact match with existing door hardware is important.
