What Is a Bathroom Turn and Release?

A bathroom turn and release is a two-sided privacy control fitted to an internal door. The thumbturn is positioned on the inside of the room and is turned by hand to lock or unlock the door. The release is fitted on the outside and commonly includes a slot that can be operated with a coin or similar flat object.

Does a Turn and Release Include the Lock?
