Cluster Pendant Lights

Explore our collection of five-light cluster pendant lights, featuring five matching shades suspended at different heights to create a cascading lighting feature. These statement ceiling lights are particularly effective in stairwells, entrance halls and rooms with high or vaulted ceilings.

Choose from Brindley and Flora cluster pendant designs in solid brass, copper, nickel and a wide range of hand-applied colours. Each cluster is made to order and hand-finished to the selected specification.

The five-light arrangement provides a more substantial focal point than a single pendant while maintaining a coordinated appearance. Check the overall dimensions, fitting weight and available ceiling height carefully before ordering.

What Is a Cluster Pendant Light?

A cluster pendant combines several individual shades into one ceiling fitting. In this collection, five matching pendants are suspended at different heights to create a layered cascade.

The varying drops draw the eye vertically through the room, making cluster lighting particularly suitable for taller spaces where a standard single pendant could appear too small.

Brindley Cluster Pendant Lights

Brindley cluster lights feature a classic metal shade profile with a clean, versatile shape. The five matching shades are arranged at graduated heights to create a substantial but balanced ceiling feature.

The Brindley design works with both metallic finishes and nature-inspired painted colours, making it suitable for contemporary interiors, converted properties and more traditional rooms.

Flora Cluster Pendant Lights

Flora cluster lights have a more curved shade inspired by natural forms. The softer profile creates a decorative alternative to the more structured Brindley design.

Flora clusters are also available across a wide selection of metallic and coloured finishes, allowing the shape to be coordinated with the surrounding room.

Brass, Copper and Nickel Cluster Lights

Metallic finishes highlight the shape and hand-finished character of each pendant:

  • Brass cluster lights provide a warm, polished gold tone.
  • Copper cluster lights introduce a warmer red-toned metallic surface.
  • Nickel cluster lights offer a cooler silver appearance suited to clean and contemporary interiors.
  • Antique brass provides a softer and more aged-looking alternative to polished brass.
  • Burnished finishes reveal natural variation and depth across the metal surface.

Nickel-finished shades may be formed from solid brass and then nickel plated. Check the individual product description if the underlying base material is important to your project.

Hand-Finished Cluster Light Colours

The collection includes colours such as Birch, Bluff, Dingle, Dusk, Elan Black, Flock, Heath, Slate, Soot, Teasel, Tump and Upstream. Availability differs between the Brindley and Flora designs.

Painted and hand-applied finishes provide a softer alternative to polished metal. Colours may appear different depending on the screen, bulb temperature, natural light and surrounding paint finishes.

Because the products are hand-finished, subtle variations between pieces may occur and should be considered part of their character.

Where Do Cluster Pendant Lights Work Best?

Five-light cluster pendants are particularly well suited to:

  • Stairwells and staircase voids
  • Vaulted and double-height ceilings
  • Entrance halls
  • Open-plan living areas
  • Large dining spaces
  • Rooms requiring a strong central feature

The fitting should have enough surrounding space for the full arrangement to be seen without interfering with doors, stairs, landings or circulation routes.

Cluster Lights for Stairwells

A cluster pendant can make effective use of the vertical space beside or above a staircase. The five staggered shades lead the eye through the stairwell and provide light across several levels.

Plan the position carefully so that the lowest pendant remains clear of people using the stairs and the fitting can be accessed safely for cleaning and bulb replacement.

Cluster Lights for Vaulted Ceilings

Vaulted ceilings provide the height needed to display the full cascade. Before ordering, confirm where the ceiling rose will be positioned and how the different drops will sit within the roof shape.

Sloping ceilings, exposed beams and rooflights can affect installation. Ask your electrician to review the technical drawing and proposed location before the order is placed.

What to Check Before Ordering

Cluster pendants are larger and heavier than standard single lights. Check:

  • The overall width and height of the arrangement
  • The individual shade dimensions
  • The shortest and longest pendant drops
  • The size of the ceiling rose
  • The complete fitting weight
  • The available ceiling and floor clearance
  • The type and strength of the ceiling structure
  • The lamp-holder and required bulb specification
  • The maximum permitted wattage
  • Compatibility with dimmable bulbs and controls
  • The product’s IP rating and approved room location
  • The current made-to-order production time

Use the technical drawing for the selected product rather than estimating its size from photographs.

Made-to-Order Lighting

These cluster pendants are made to order and hand-finished to the chosen design and colour. Check the expected production time before placing your order, particularly if the fitting is needed for a scheduled renovation or installation date.

Because made-to-order items may be subject to different amendment or return conditions, review the individual product information and returns policy before purchasing.

Installation and Ceiling Support

The ceiling must be capable of supporting the complete weight of the cluster fitting. A suitable fixing point or additional structural support may be required, particularly in plasterboard ceilings.

Cluster pendant lights should be installed according to the supplied instructions and applicable electrical regulations. Use a suitably qualified electrician where required.

Do not book installation until the light has arrived and its dimensions, contents and condition have been checked.

Choosing Bulbs for Cluster Pendants

All five bulbs contribute to the overall brightness and appearance of the installation. Check the specified lamp-holder, bulb dimensions and maximum wattage before purchasing bulbs.

The colour temperature will affect the finish: warmer bulbs can emphasise brass, copper and earthy painted shades, while cooler light can produce a crisper appearance. Use compatible dimmable bulbs if the fitting is connected to a suitable dimmer.

Caring for Cluster Pendant Lights

Switch off the electrical supply and allow the fitting to cool before cleaning. Remove dust using a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive pads or strong chemical cleaners.

Only use metal polish where it is specifically recommended for the selected finish. Polishing an aged, plated, painted or burnished surface may permanently alter it.
