Ceiling Pendant Lights

Explore our collection of ceiling pendant lights, handcrafted from materials including solid brass, copper and steel. Designed to create a striking focal point, these metal pendant lights work equally well above dining tables, kitchen islands, entrance halls and living spaces.

Choose from Brindley, Flora, Frankley, Harborne and Hockley pendant designs in a wide range of metallic and powder-coated finishes. Selected shades are available with either a smooth or hammered interior, allowing you to tailor the appearance of the light to your room.

Hang a pendant individually or arrange several lights in a row or group. Each design is hand-finished, so subtle variations may occur and form part of the character of the product.

Handcrafted Metal Pendant Lights

Our metal ceiling pendants are shaped from quality base materials and hand-finished in a choice of colours and metallic surfaces. Their carefully formed shades provide a distinctive alternative to mass-produced lighting.

Depending on the selected design and finish, the pendant may be made from solid brass, solid copper or steel. Nickel and copper finishes may be applied over a different base material, so check the individual product specification if the underlying material is important to your project.

Ceiling Pendant Designs

The collection brings together five principal pendant shapes:

  • Brindley ceiling lights offer a classic, versatile shade profile suited to traditional and contemporary interiors.
  • Flora ceiling lights feature curved forms inspired by natural shapes.
  • Frankley ceiling lights have a tapered, funnel-shaped profile for a clean contemporary look.
  • Harborne ceiling lights combine rounded edges with classic British-inspired styling.
  • Hockley ceiling lights have a sharper angular form suited to modern and industrial interiors.

Compare the shade diameter, height and overall proportions before choosing a design. A pendant that works above a small side table may not create enough visual presence above a large kitchen island.

Brass, Copper and Nickel Pendant Lights

Metallic pendant finishes can be used to coordinate lighting with cabinet handles, door furniture and other interior details:

  • Polished brass pendant lights introduce a warm, reflective gold tone.
  • Polished copper pendant lights provide a warmer red-toned metallic finish.
  • Nickel pendant lights offer a cooler silver appearance suited to clean and contemporary rooms.
  • Burnished finishes create greater variation and depth across the metal surface.

Natural and hand-applied finishes may show subtle differences between pieces. When ordering several pendants for one installation, purchase them together where possible.

Powder-Coated Pendant Colours

The collection also includes a wide range of powder-coated colours inspired by natural landscapes and materials. These finishes provide a softer alternative to polished metal and can be chosen to complement walls, cabinetry or architectural details.

Colour appearance can vary between screens and different lighting conditions. Review product photography and finish samples where available before ordering multiple fittings.

Smooth or Hammered Interiors

Selected pendants can be ordered with a smooth or hammered interior face:

  • Smooth interiors provide a clean, consistent surface.
  • Hammered interiors introduce a hand-worked texture that can create additional visual interest when the light is illuminated.

Interior options vary by product and finish, so confirm the available combination on the individual listing.

Single Pendant Lights

A single ceiling pendant can create a focal point above a dining table, breakfast table, reading area or central entrance space. The size and hanging height should be proportionate to the furniture and room below it.

Consider sightlines as well as illumination. The fitting should hang low enough to feel connected to the space without obstructing movement or views across the room.

Pendant Lights for Kitchen Islands

Multiple pendant lights can provide both task lighting and decorative rhythm above a kitchen island or breakfast bar. Two or three matching pendants are common, although the correct number depends on the island length and the diameter of each shade.

Plan the centre points before installation so the pendants are distributed evenly. Check that cupboard doors, extractor equipment and tall users will have adequate clearance.

Cluster Pendant Lights

For stairwells, entrance halls and rooms with higher or vaulted ceilings, consider a coordinated cluster pendant light. These arrangements suspend several matching shades at different heights to create a cascading feature.

Cluster fittings require sufficient ceiling height and structural support. Review their overall dimensions and weight before ordering.

What to Check Before Ordering

Before choosing a pendant light, check:

  • The shade diameter and height
  • The overall adjustable drop
  • The ceiling rose dimensions
  • The fitting weight and required ceiling support
  • The lamp-holder and recommended bulb specification
  • The maximum permitted wattage
  • Compatibility with dimmable bulbs and controls
  • The finish and interior-face option
  • The product’s IP rating and approved room location
  • Current production and delivery times

Only use a pendant in a bathroom or other moisture-prone location if its stated IP rating and installation zone permit it.

Installation and Electrical Safety

Ceiling lights must be installed according to the product instructions and applicable electrical regulations. Use a suitably qualified electrician where required.

The electrician should confirm that the ceiling can support the fitting and that the supply, earthing, controls and chosen bulb are compatible with the product.

Do not book installation work until the light has arrived and its dimensions, contents and condition have been checked.

Caring for Metal Pendant Lights

Switch off the electrical supply and allow the fitting to cool before cleaning. Dust the shade with a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive pads or strong chemical cleaners.

Metal polishes should only be used when specifically recommended for the selected finish. Polishing an aged, plated, burnished or lacquered surface may permanently alter its appearance.
