Satin Nickel Window Furniture

Our satin nickel window furniture combines traditional window fittings with a soft, contemporary grey finish. Less reflective than polished nickel or chrome, satin nickel works particularly well with painted timber, neutral colour schemes and other brushed metal fittings.

The collection includes solid-brass casement stays and fasteners, fittings for standard and weather-stripped windows, specialist fanlight stays, a fanlight catch and a casement stay locking pin. Different sizes and fitting arrangements are available, so check the individual product specifications before ordering.

Each fitting has a protective satin nickel lacquer and should be cleaned gently with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Avoid metal polish, abrasive pads and strong cleaning sprays, as these can damage the surface coating.

Satin Nickel Casement Window Stays

A casement stay is fitted to an outward-opening timber window and allows it to be held at a chosen position. Traditional stays use a row of holes that locate over one of the pins fixed to the window frame.

Our satin nickel collection includes ball-end and spoon-end casement stays in 8-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch sizes. Before choosing a length, consider the dimensions and weight of the window, the available fixing space and how far it needs to open.

The longest stay is not automatically the best choice for every window. It must fit on the opening casement without obstructing the handle, frame or surrounding joinery.

Satin Nickel Window Fasteners

Casement window fasteners hold the opening section of a timber window against its frame. Choose from ball-end, spoon-end and wedge-pattern designs in a coordinating satin nickel finish.

Before replacing an existing fastener, check:

  • The direction in which the window opens
  • Whether the fastener is reversible
  • The shape and position of the frame keeper
  • The existing fixing centres
  • The amount of clear timber available for the backplate
  • Whether weather stripping creates an offset between the window and frame

Exact dimensions and compatible fitting arrangements are shown on the individual product listings.

Fasteners for Weather-Stripped Windows

Weather stripping can change the level at which the opening window meets its frame. A standard fastener may therefore be unsuitable where a seal creates additional thickness or requires extra compression.

The collection includes a satin nickel locking wedge fastener designed for compatible timber windows fitted with weather stripping. Its wedge action helps pull the window against the seal when closed.

The supplied Allen key operates a small locking grub screw. This restricts normal use of the handle but is not described as a certified security lock. If tested window security is required, choose a product specifically approved for that purpose.

Specialist Satin Nickel Window Stays

Specialist stays offer alternative opening control where a conventional peg stay is unsuitable:

  • Roller arm stays restrict compatible bottom-hung fanlight windows and are available in two lengths
  • Quadrant stays use a curved arm to control the opening of compatible fanlight or casement windows
  • Sliding casement stays use an adjustable arm and screw-down knob to hold a window at the preferred position

These products are not interchangeable. Confirm whether your window is top-hung, bottom-hung or side-hung and whether it opens inward or outward before choosing a stay.

Satin Nickel Fanlight Catches

A coordinating fanlight catch is available for compatible bottom-hung, inward-opening fanlight windows. Its ring pull can be reached with a suitable pole hook when the window is positioned above normal reach.

The catch is supplied with two alternative keepers for flush and recessed fitting arrangements. Check the window profile and product measurements to determine which keeper is required.

Casement Stay Locking Pins

A casement stay locking pin can replace a conventional stay pin on a compatible window. It helps prevent the stay from being lifted casually during normal use.

Check compatibility with the stay before ordering. A locking pin should not automatically be treated as a complete or certified window-security system.

Caring for Satin Nickel Window Furniture

Satin nickel has a softly brushed appearance protected by a lacquered surface. To care for the finish:

  • Remove dust and marks with a clean, soft cloth
  • Use only mild cleaning products when necessary
  • Avoid abrasive pads and scouring materials
  • Do not use metal polish or polishing sprays
  • Dry the fitting after cleaning and avoid prolonged moisture exposure

If a fitting becomes difficult to operate, check the window alignment, fixings and moving components rather than forcing the handle or stay.
