How To Install A Coat Rack With Shelf

This short video explains how to fit a traditional coat rack with a shelf. Filmed in our warehouse in Clare, Suffolk, it provides practical guidance for completing this useful hallway storage project.

Before installing your coat rack

Check that the wall and fixings are suitable for the combined weight of the timber, brackets and anything that will be stored on the rack. The screws supplied with decorative hardware might not be suitable for every wall construction or for supporting heavy loads. If you are uncertain, ask a qualified tradesperson to recommend appropriate wall plugs and fixings.
