Night Latches for Entrance Doors

A night latch is fitted to the internal face of a compatible door and automatically engages when the door closes. The external cylinder allows the latch to be operated with a key, while the internal fitting provides convenient access from inside the property.

Before ordering, check the door type, thickness, opening direction and required backset. Night latches form part of a wider locking arrangement, so consider the door’s overall security requirements and any existing locks or cylinders.

Door Chains & Security Chains

Security door chains are fitted between the inside of an entrance door and its frame. They allow the door to be opened by a limited distance before the chain is released from inside.

Check the door and frame construction, fixing positions and available clearance before installation. A door chain is an additional door-control fitting and should be used alongside suitable primary locks rather than as the door’s main locking device.

Surface-Mounted Door Bolts

Surface-mounted door bolts are fitted to the face of a door and slide into a compatible keep. The collection includes flat door bolts, slide bolts and traditional Tudor-style bolts in a selection of sizes and finishes.

Door security bolts may be used on suitable entrance doors, internal doors, gates or other applications, depending on the individual product. Check the bolt length, fixing surface, keep position and intended location before ordering.

Flush Bolts

Flush bolts are recessed into the edge or face of a door to create a lower-profile installation. They are commonly used to secure the inactive leaf of compatible pairs of doors, although suitability depends on the door construction and hardware arrangement.

Fitting a flush bolt normally requires a correctly sized recess. Check the bolt dimensions, lever position, required depth and keep arrangement before installation.

Coordinating Front Door Hardware

Match your security fittings with coordinating door locks, latches and bolts. You can also combine them with Heritage Brass letter plates and tidies, door knockers and centre door knobs to create a consistent entrance-door scheme.

Finish availability varies between products. Review the individual listings for dimensions, materials, set contents, fixing requirements and care guidance before choosing coordinating hardware.

Choosing Front Door Security Hardware

Before ordering, confirm the door type, material, thickness, opening direction and existing lock arrangement. Measure the available fitting area carefully and ensure the door and frame provide suitable fixing points for the selected hardware.

Front door security depends on the complete door, frame, glazing, locks and installation—not one fitting alone. For help selecting compatible products from the wider Heritage Brass collection, contact our team before ordering.
