Dummy Hinge Fronts

Where a decorative feature is required without structural support, our dummy hinge fronts provide the same visual style as the full strap hinge. Available in black beeswax and pewter, they are well suited to panelled joinery, doors fitted with concealed hinges or situations where symmetry is needed.

Exterior-Grade Options

For external doors, acidic timbers or areas exposed to moisture, the Armor-Coat tee hinges offer a more durable alternative. These retain the traditional penny end design while providing improved resistance to weathering. Available in 6, 9, 12 and 18 inches, they are a reliable choice for outbuildings, porches or heavier-use environments.

Choosing the Right Size

A tee hinge typically covers between half and two-thirds of the door width. As a guide, a 30-inch internal door is usually matched with an 18-inch hinge, while smaller sizes are suited to cupboards or light internal joinery. Dummy fronts can be selected based on the scale of the door or the style you wish to achieve.
