Our Ringed Wooden Door Knobs with Chrome Rose offer a traditional timber door knob with a clean profile and decorative ring detailing. Unlike more heavily styled period door knobs, the Ringed design features a smooth transition from the neck of the knob to its widest point, finished with a gently pointed face and concentric rings that add subtle visual interest.

This versatile design works equally well in cottages, farmhouses, traditional homes and renovation projects where a classic wooden door knob is required without being tied to a specific historical period.

Available in either natural rosewood or an ebonised finish, these wooden door knobs are supplied as a pair and mounted on solid brass rose plates with a polished chrome finish. The combination of traditional timber and bright chrome hardware makes them a practical choice where traditional styling is being paired with more contemporary metal finishes elsewhere in the property.

The Ringed design also works particularly well on panelled doors when positioned on the centre rail, allowing the use of a longer tubular latch whilst maintaining the correct proportions of the door.

Rosewood

The natural rosewood option showcases the grain and colour variations of the timber, giving each pair its own character.

Ebonised

The ebonised version uses a durable black coating applied to the rosewood base material, producing a darker finish that complements painted doors and traditional interiors.

Both finishes are supplied with polished chrome rose plates and matching chrome fixing screws.

Unsprung Door Knob Information

These are unsprung door knobs, meaning there is no spring mechanism built into the knobs themselves.

Instead, the return action is provided by the tubular latch. For this reason, we strongly recommend using a heavy-duty tubular latch to ensure reliable operation and correct return after use.

Our complete sets have been assembled using suitable heavy-duty latches specifically selected for use with unsprung wooden door knobs.

Whilst a 3" latch can be used, we generally recommend a 4" tubular latch wherever possible. The additional backset helps move your hand away from the edge of the door and reduces the chance of contacting the door jamb during operation.

All tubular latches and deadbolts supplied within our sets are fire rated to CE 1121 CF 5531. Where a certified fire-rated installation is required, please consult your door supplier or project designer to confirm overall compliance.

Installation

The knobs are connected through the door using a threaded spindle and secured using a small grub screw located within the neck of each knob.

This traditional fixing method provides a strong and secure installation whilst allowing adjustment during fitting.

Although the separate chrome rose plate means these knobs can technically be used with certain rim locks, we would generally recommend selecting a dedicated rim knob where a rim lock installation is planned.
