Door Handles and Door Knobs

Begin by choosing how you want to operate the door. Our door handles include lever-on-backplate, lever-on-rose and complete latch or lock sets for traditional and modern interiors.

Alternatively, explore our door knobs, including wooden, cast iron, solid brass and bronze designs. Door knobs provide a classic appearance but often require a deeper latch backset to prevent the user’s hand from catching the door frame.

Before ordering, check the door thickness, spindle size, latch backset and any existing fixing holes. When replacing a large backplate, make sure the new fitting will cover marks left by the previous handle.

Door Latches and Locks

Our door latches and locks cover a variety of functions. The correct option depends on whether the door simply needs to stay closed, requires privacy or forms part of the property’s security.

  • Tubular latches hold a door closed but do not lock it.
  • Bathroom locks and deadbolts provide privacy and normally work with a turn and emergency release.
  • Sash locks combine a latch and key-operated deadbolt in one case.
  • Deadlocks provide key-operated locking without a latch.
  • Euro profile locks operate with a compatible Euro cylinder and suitable door furniture.
  • Night latches are surface-mounted entrance locks that may be used alongside other suitable security hardware.

Security requirements differ between internal and external doors. Always check that a lock is suitable for its intended location and meets any applicable insurance, fire-door or building requirements. A latch or privacy lock should not be treated as an external-door security lock.

Traditional Rim Locks and Suffolk Latches

Our traditional rim locks are surface-mounted to the face of the door and are particularly suited to cottages and period interiors. Many are designed for internal privacy rather than external security, so check the individual product description before installation.

For ledge-and-brace doors, our Suffolk latches offer a traditional hand-forged solution. These thumb latches hold the door closed but do not normally provide key-operated security.

Front Door Hardware

Complete an entrance with coordinated front door handles, door knockers and bells, letter plates, centre door knobs and other exterior door furniture.

A brass letter plate can be matched with a brass door knocker and door numbers for a consistent appearance. When choosing exterior fittings, consider the door material, fixing method and level of exposure to rain, pollution and salt air.

Not every finish is suitable for exterior or coastal use. Check the individual listing for environmental suitability, care requirements and guarantees before fitting hardware to an exposed entrance.

Door Hinges, Bolts and Accessories

The weight, thickness and use of a door determine which hinges it requires. Our ranges include butt hinges for conventional timber doors and traditional T-hinges for ledge-and-brace doors. Fire doors must be fitted with correctly specified fire-rated hinges and compatible components.

Additional door hardware includes:

  • Escutcheons to finish and protect keyholes
  • Bathroom turns and emergency releases for privacy locks
  • Door stops to help protect walls, handles and joinery
  • Door bolts for additional closing or securing functions
  • Finger plates and push plates for frequently used doors
  • Cabin hooks for holding doors in an open position
  • Sliding door hardware for pocket and sliding-door installations

Choosing a Door Hardware Finish

Available materials and finishes include solid brass, bronze, cast iron, black beeswax, pewter, polished chrome, satin nickel and matt black. Some finishes are designed to retain a consistent appearance, while unlacquered brass and other living finishes naturally change through handling and exposure.

For a coordinated interior, match your door handles or knobs with suitable hinges, escutcheons, privacy turns and cabinet hardware. Exact colour can vary between different materials and manufacturers, so choosing products from the same range generally provides the closest match.

Check Compatibility Before Ordering

Door hardware is not universally interchangeable. Before ordering, confirm the door thickness, handing, backset, spindle dimensions, lock or latch case size and fixing positions. Exterior, bathroom, fire-door and coastal installations may have additional requirements.

Each product listing provides the relevant dimensions, finish information and set contents. If you are uncertain which components work together, contact our team with details of your door and intended application before placing your order.
